Linear bar codes - the codes consisting of strips and read in one direction (horizontally).
  The most common bar codes are received in trade, where they are used for the labeling of goods. Basically linear bar codes consist of numbers, it is:

      
  • EAN-8 (code consists of 8 digits, the first 7 digit serial number 8 - the control number)   
  • EAN-13 & nbsp; (code consists of 13 digits, the first 12 digit serial number 13 - the control number)   
  • UPC-A (code consists of 12 digits, the first 11 digit serial number 12 - the control number)   
  • UPC-E (code consists of 8 digits, the first 7 digit serial number 8 - the control number)

    For alphanumeric bar codes include:

        
    • Code128   
    • Code39   
    • Codabar

      The main disadvantage of linear bar codes is small capacity of stored information.
